The main stream media is at it again.
They are trying to set the Presidential race. They were proven wrong in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, Florida and yet they are still trying to act like they know the GOP race.
All we are hearing now is “It’s down to Romney vs. McCain” or “Now it’s down to two”. Aren’t they forgetting someone?
Last time I looked at the RCP National Average (which was 20 seconds ago by the way!), this was a THREE MAN RACE and the two latest national polls show Huckabee leading Romney.
Yet, political pundits and wannabe experts are telling us there is no chance in God’s green earth that Huckabee could even dream of winning the nomination.
Why could this be? MONEY… It is true that the Huckabee campaign faces a lot of trouble financially, but if he wins a lot of delegates on Super Tuesday, his cash flow should increase significantly again from Evangelicals. His main trouble with cash though, is the media’s pereception of him no longer being a viable candidate, which is bull. Huckabee has just as good a shot (even better in my honest opinion) of winning the nomination than Romney, but the big problem is the media won’t count him in as a viable candidate until he gets money. The never ending circle, may prove too much for Huck, but he has over come a lot over the last year and he still could prove the media wrong again.
- Delegate count… Why don’t we actually look at the numbers instead of acting like sheep, following anything thing the media says as being the truth.
Huckabee current trails Romney by 19 delegates. (59 to 40) McCain is ahead with 93, but for the sake of the argument, we will just talk about Huckabee and Romney and what states they are likely to win.
States Huckabee is most likely to win…
Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and West Virginia…. the total delegate count from all those states is 338.
States Romney is most likely to win…
Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts and Utah…. the total delegate count from all those states is 146.
Now of course, only a hand full of those states are winner take all, but you kind of get the picture. Nationally Huckabee polls above Romney (as shown above) so on what will pretty much be a national primary next Tuesday, what would make you think Romney will beat Huckabee?
The other two states Romney might try to spend as an ability to pick up delegates are California and New York. He trails big in polls in both states. Huckabee could finish in front of him in California and New York is a winner take all state.
John McCain could very well walk away with the nomination next week, but I can promise you one Mitt Romney will not!
Media, if you are out there… WAKE UP!!!

I know what you mean. Last night I saw a delegate count before the Florida primary that had McCain ahead of Huckabee in delegate count. They justified it by “promised” delegates. Whatever!
I guess they think if you ignore something it will go away.
Furthermore, if you look at the General Election polls with the Republicans against the Democrats at realclearpolitics.com, you will see that Huckabee against Clinton has Clinton leading by 9.9 points and Huckabee against Obama has Obama leading by 16.6 points whereas Romney against Clinton has Clinton leading by 12.4 points and Romney against Obama has Obama leading by 17.0 points.
This is pretty impressive given the amount of money that both Republican campaigns have had to work with. Huckabee has consistently done significantly better than Romney given the limited funds Huckabee’s campaign has had. This speaks volumes as to how they would manage the federal budget.
A little after the debate, a CNN analyst looked at maps and explained what delegates the candidates would be after.
The map highlighted the “conservative southern states of TN, AL, GA and MO and/or AR, saying Romney will campaign for these state, “though remember, he still has competition from Huckabee in these states, even though Huckabee is far behind….”
Hello? Though polls after FL today, may show McCain gaining ground, recent polls showed Huckabee leading all states with a tie with McCain in one. He leads Romney by a fair piece. This fellow obviously pulled this statement from a dark, damp, smelly place…
I actually did a local television interview today and when I explained how Huckabee was actually only 19 delegates behind Romney, she couldn’t believe it and I went on to explain that we stand to get just as many delegates on Super Tuesday as Romney, probably even more.
It is really ridiculous how much the national media has shut Huckabee out.
Oh how quick they forget… He made them look like fools a few months ago and he will do it again on Tuesday.
Huckabee isn’t hard-edged or offensive in any way. Do you suppose that media reflexively discount him on the assumption that a confessing evangelical Christian can’t be serious?
