Here is an ARTICLE in USA Today about Presidential Humor…They love our Candidate…

Huckabee, a self-described former class clown who says his wisecracks arise from “spontaneous combustion,” hit the right note at an MSNBC debate. “We’ve had a Congress that’s spent money like John Edwards at a beauty shop,” he said. Katz says that passes his test for zingers: “Do I like Mike Huckabee better for telling that joke?”

Huckabee won so much acclaim for the line that he used it to raise money. He asked donors to contribute the price of their last haircut and netted $40,000. “Most people don’t take that expensive a haircut, unfortunately,” he says.

He admitted that his career as a Southern Baptist pastor before he ran for political office raises questions for some voters. But he said it also helped him identify on a personal level with social problems afflicting the country.

“My time in the church world was the best preparation to later become a governor,” Huckabee said. “There’s not a social problem that exists in this country that doesn’t have a name and a face.”

Huckabee’s faith is one of the reasons Royce Phillips, 54, a pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Coralville, will vote for him in the straw poll.”A lot of people dismiss Huckabee because he doesn’t have as much money as Romney and Giuliani, but it’s about the people,” Phillips said.

Shawn Zierke, 35, said Huckabee’s anti-abortion stance and tax proposals won her over. Unlike other Republicans, he has charisma to go with his conservatism, Zierke said.

There it is again…Huckabee and Charisma…the two go hand in hand…Charisma doesn’t make for good policy…But charisma is what Reagan and Clinton had…two different policies…two different people…both had that charisma…as much as it hurts to say it…for all of Clinton’s faults (HE HAD MANY) he got elected twice on charisma…Huckabee can do the same…except with GOOD policy and character…

Below is an ARTICLE about France and a few other nations…they all took inept steps to try and NEGOTIATE with HITLER…of course this failed…as i fear it will with IRAN…we have to stop terrorism and those who SPONSOR it…

“Moral paralysis” is a term that has been used to describe the inaction of France, England and other European democracies in the 1930s, as they watched Hitler build up the military forces that he later used to attack them.

It is a term that may be painfully relevant to our own times.
Back in the 1930s, the governments of the democratic countries knew what Hitler was doing — and they knew that they had enough military superiority at that point to stop his military buildup in its tracks. But they did nothing to stop him.

Instead, they turned to what is still the magic mantra today — “negotiations.”
No leader of a democratic nation was ever more popular than British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain — wildly cheered in the House of Commons by opposition parties as well as his own — when he returned from negotiations in Munich in 1938, waving an agreement and declaring that it meant “peace in our time.”

We know now how short that time was. Less than a year later, World War II began in Europe and spread across the planet, killing tens of millions of people and reducing many cities to rubble in Europe and Asia.

Looking back after that war, Winston Churchill said, “There was never a war in all history easier to prevent by timely action.” The earlier it was done, the less it would have cost.
At one point, Hitler could have been stopped in his tracks “without the firing of a single shot,” Churchill said…

Huckabee, though, wants Brownback out of his way. Asked what separates him from Brownback, Huckabee throws down the gauntlet: “The key difference is I’ve actually been a governor for ten and a half years and I’ve run a government.” Huckabee is not shy about why he would be the more electable conservative. “No senator has been elected since JFK,” he said, “and frankly there’s a good reason for that.” If a member of the legislative branch can’t change Washington, they are either “part of the problem,” he said, or they haven’t been strong enough in enacting change.

Here is the rest of this ARTICLE. More to come later…

Update: The bottom line is that I like both Huckabee and Brownback…They are both true social conservatives…and I would love to have either one of them as President…But here is the TRUTH…Brownback has NO chance of winning a general election…against anybody…I can give you a few reasons for this…#1 is the fact that he is the most boring person to listen to…He is so monotone and just plain yuck…Huckabee has that witt and charm…plus humor…Brownback…Not so much…another reason is Brownback comes across as so Jerry Falwell (not that I disagree with Falwell), Hillary Clinton like…And by that I mean that he is so Polarizing…He seems so far right…Huckabee has appeal to Moderates and even Conservative Democrats…The guy got 49% of the African-American vote in his re-election bid for crying out loud…I know Brownback could not do that…Huckabee can win the primary because this election people are wanting to make sure we keep the White House after our thrashing in 06 due to our inept Republican Congress (which Brownback was a member of)…HUCKABEE CAN WIN THE GENERAL ELECTION…BROWNBACK CANNOT…BOTTOM LINE

Here is an ARTICLE that makes a few interesting points…

But it is the impending entry of Mr. Thompson — the former Tennessee senator who, aides said Wednesday, plans to enter the race with a national announcement tour just after Labor Day — that has injected the most uncertainty into the contest. Across the board, Republicans said they were uncertain how strong a candidate Mr. Thompson might be in his first national campaign and how much money he could raise.

Wasn’t Fred supposed to come in around mid-May…then June…then July 4th…then August…now Labor Day?…I think that had he come in around May and had a halfway good Debate June 5th (i.e. Stand there and say nothing, just look tough) Huck and the rest of the second tier might have already left the race…now the straw poll might inject life into one of the second tier candidates…and boom…Fred might have waited too long…just a thought…

Here are some facts that relay the importance of the Straw Poll at Ames I got from this ARTICLE…(notice the bolded words)

By the numbers

40,000 — The straw poll crowd expected by Iowa Republicans

5 — Outside groups that also will have a big straw poll presence, including the NRA, Newt Gingrich’s American Solutions, One Vote ’08, Fair Tax and the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease

10 — Hours of politics planned, from a Fair Tax rally at 9 a.m. to the announcement of poll results at 7 p.m.

31 — The number of parking lots that will be used or will be available for use during the straw poll. Planners are expecting traffic akin to an Iowa-Iowa State football game.

15 — Minutes each candidate has to speak during the event.

0 — Number of GOP candidates who failed to finish in the top two at the straw poll but won the caucuses anyway.

Let me know what you think about this video I made…

Read this excerpt from an ARTICLE, written by Senator Sam SwitchBack, rather Brownback…

That is why I propose an optional flat tax that would exist alongside the current code. This approach does not gore any of the tax code’s sacred cows and it could actually be enacted into law. An optional flat tax would generate economic growth and be vastly more transparent, simple and family — friendly than the current code.

He can’t be serious…This is just what we as Americans need…More tax laws lined up with our current ones…H&R Block is loving it…They know they can now put a lock on doing everybody’s taxes…Because no one is going to understand anything about this…and if we go this route…20 years, after 10 more congresses…our system may be so screwed up…there may never be a way out…Seriously…Brownback doesn’t even want a Flat Tax…He wants it to be OPTIONAL…Thats like saying I know what we have is screwed up…But it is paying for my pay raises I give myself every year…So lets not take that away but instead we can add to it…uh no Brownback…Get Real…Its time we all said no to the current system for good…Take a look at what we need below…keep this in mind…This Video has had over 155,000 views

Today, the New York Times confirms that Fred Thompson worked as a legal advisor and lobbyist for an abortion group:

According to records from Arent Fox, the law firm based in Washington where Mr. Thompson worked part-time from 1991 to 1994, he charged the organization, the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association, about $5,000 for work he did in 1991 and 1992. The records show that Mr. Thompson, a probable Republican candidate for president in 2008, spent much of that time in telephone conferences with the president of the group, and on three occasions he reported lobbying administration officials on its behalf.

More on this later today…for now check out the video below…

God called the ancient Israelites a “wicked and adulterous generation.” In context, that meant they lusted after false gods, worshiping and following idols made of wood and gold instead of the real thing. Today in America, adultery is no longer regarded as a big deal, except for those hurt by a cheating partner. Laws have been so watered down in many states that while an adulterous partner in a marriage might sue for divorce on grounds of sexual infidelity, increasing numbers of family courts do not penalize the cheating partner when it comes to alimony and other financial considerations, or even child custody. Cheating wives can still win custody or joint custody of their children.

Whether one commits adultery with a White House intern, or a prostitute, it’s all the same and it isn’t funny, except for the hypocrisy part. Sex is a powerful force. It can bond, or it can destroy. In our culture, sex has been used as a commodity to make lots of money and in doing so it has mortgaged the souls of those who use it irresponsibly.

Ask Sen. David Vitter, who is now making his mortgage payments — in public humiliation and private shame.

Update: If you will remember from an earlier post, this is an excerpt from our work in progress…Character Files…

2007 Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, former Governor of the state of Arkansas and an ordained Southern Baptist pastor, has correctly said that if Republicans abandon the issue of character in this election they will owe Bill Clinton an apology. Huckabee stated that what is at stake, is consistent moral standards. He addressed the matter well, suggesting that Republicans cannot afford to become hypocrites, criticizing the opposition party while overlooking the same faults in our own.

I think this nails how important it is for us as a party to make sure we nominate a man of CHARACTER…the proof is in the pudding…30 years of marriage…no infidelity’s…when we look at this…you have to say that Mike Huckabee is the man…

Update: Mike continues to climb in National Polls…take a look at the poll…then at what race42008 has to say about it…

GOP (change from yesterday)
Fred Thompson 24% (even)
Rudy Giuliani 21% (-1)
Mitt Romney 14% (even)
John McCain 11% (-1)
Mike Huckabee 4% (+1)

Daily tracking results are from survey interviews conducted over four days ending last night. Each update includes approximately 750-800 Likely Democratic Primary Voters and 600-650 Likely Republican Primary Voters. Margin of sampling error for each is +/- 4 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

It will be interesting to watch and see if Huckabee slowly can close the gap with McCain. That would leave two options:

a. McCain has fallen into second tierb. Huckabee is slowly climbing into the first tier
For choice B to happen, Huckabee would have to seriously improve his fundraising in Q3, but it’s possible.

Or…. McCain holds his position, and Huckabee keeps climbing, giving us five first tier candidates. Unlikely, but it’s possible.

Great ARTICLE about how voters in the Republican Primary are still undecided…I think this shows that Huckabee can still make the leap with a strong straw poll in Ames…Also shown is a Zogby International Poll…View the full explanation for the poll HERE

National Poll, Republicans July 14, 2007

F. Thompson 22%
Giuliani 21%
Romney 11%
McCain 9%
Huckabee 5%

Here is the Article excerpt…

And the leading Republican presidential candidate is … none of the above.

The latest Associated Press-Ipsos poll found that nearly a quarter of Republicans are unwilling to back top-tier hopefuls Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, John McCain or Mitt Romney, and no one candidate has emerged as the clear front-runner among Christian evangelicals. Such dissatisfaction underscores the volatility of the 2008 GOP nomination fight…

More Republicans have become apathetic about their options over the past month.

A hefty 23 percent can’t or won’t say which candidate they would back, a jump from the 14 percent who took a pass in June.

None of the top candidates has a clear lead among Christian evangelicals, a critical part of the GOP base that has had considerable sway in past Republican primaries. Giuliani, a thrice-married backer of abortion rights and gay rights, had 20 percent support — roughly even with Thompson and McCain who have one divorce each in their pasts. Romney, a Mormon who has been married for three decades, was in the single digits.

These videos are what they are…THE TRUTH…realize that…and then make your stand with me alongside Mike Huckabee…
